(Stormheart, Book 2)
Cora Carmack
Hardcover, 352 pages
Tor Teen
     June 11, 2019
Fantasy, Romance,
Young Adult Fiction

New York Times bestselling author Cora Carmack's young adult debut series: the second in a captivating new YA fantasy/romance series perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard

Princess or adventurer.

Duty or freedom.

Her Kingdom or the Stormhunter she loves.

If Aurora knows anything, it's that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.

In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different—they churn with darkness, and attack with a will that’s desperate and violent.

This feels like more than rage.

It feels like war.

Why I can't wait for this one!

When I first came across this sequel, I thought, well, now I can read them back to back. But no!! It was originally listed as being released THIS June!! Now it turns out that it won't be published until June, 2019..... WTH?! WHY the delay?! Especially since this is obviously a GREAT series!! From what I've heard, since I have yet to read the first book, lol. But, hey, just looking at those covers, it SURE does look like this series ROCKS!! And it has a LOT of GREAT reviews on Amazon!! (So I wish they'd hurry up and bring us this second volume BEFORE June, 2019!!!)

This is the previous novel
 in this GREAT series!!

choice this week?
Please leave a comment and
let me know!

  1. I was super excited to check out Roar last year but I don't know what happened but I never ended up with it. I'm still interested and the cover for this sequel makes me want it all the more! My CWW

    1. Hi, Eve!

Yeah, I was super excited myself! I do own the book, too, but have yet to read it. That happens to me a LOT. Lol.

Bot of these books have AWESOME covers!! But I'm SO disappointed that the release has been delayed..... :(

Thanks so much for commenting!! <3 :)

  2. June 2019 seems a long time offf. Is it typical to be talking about a book and releasing the cover art this early? One issue with reading books in a series with big gaps between books is that I tend to forget details.

    1. Hi, Brian!

Yes, it SURE does!! I'm SO disappointed..... But the original release date was June of THIS year. That's what the Goodreads listing says, anyway, but I believe it, because there wouldn't have been a cover (and what a STUNNING cover, too!) THIS early. So you're right about that. I don't know why the release has been delayed. Who knows....maybe the author decided on some major last-minute revisions.

I still remember how VERY disappointed I felt after reading "New Moon", the second book in The Twilight Saga, and then finding out that I would have to wait an ENTIRE YEAR for the third book, "Eclipse", to be released..... The thing is, though, that I discovered that series in 2006. The first two books had already been published. I devoured each right away! But well, authors do need time to write each book in a series. Some authors are faster than others, though.

I had to look twice when I saw the release date on this book. I thought for SURE there had been some mistake. But no, there wasn't..... :(

I guess I'll postpone reading the first book I do own it!

      Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  3. I have read all Carmack's contemporaries, and her paranormal (which seems to have been abandoned). I need to catch up on this series. Hope you love it.

    1. Hi, Sam!

I had not heard of Cormack until I came across "Roar", and was just FLOORED by that AMAZING cover!! I'll have to check out her other books.

I do own "Roar", but now I might as well postpone reading it until it's closer to release time for "Rage". Lol.

So she's written a paranormal series, too? How disappointing that she seems to have abandoned it! I'll look into that, as well!

As for loving this series, I'm SURE I will, if the stories match these STUNNING covers!!

      Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  4. I still need to pick up Roar too. I didn't know there was a sequel already announced, but I will definitely pick it up as well. Thanks for sharing!

    My CWW

    1. Hi, Bogdana!

I do own "Roar", but haven't read it yet. I think I'll postpone doing so until the second book is closer to being released. I can't believe it's been delayed a WHOLE year..... :(

You're very welcome for the sharing! Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  5. I love the name Roar! Maybe the date is typo - hopefully, not some other issue. You could go ahead and read the first one. :-)

    1. Hi, Kay!

Yeah, I love the name, too!! And that's just MAGNIFICENT!! The cover of "Rage" is just as magnificent!

I wish the date were a typo....but it isn't. I checked out the book on Amazon, and the listing has the same date as the Goodreads listing. Besides, the Amazon listing says that the book is currently unavailable. It's really very disappointing..... :(

I don't think I'll read "Roar" just yet. I'll wait until it's closer to the release date for "Rage". I can still remember how FRUSTRATING it was to finish reading "New Moon", the second book of The Twilight Saga, only to find out I would have to wait a WHOLE year for "Eclipse" to come out..... :(

      Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  6. Why so long? I thought it was coming out this year too. In fact, I have the first one sitting on my office floor as I type this. If it isn't coming out until 2019, I'm not picking Roar up anytime soon!

Hope you are having a great day and the boys send hellos "RUFF RUFF!"

    1. Hi, Barb!

Yeah, I was REALLY surprised and disappointed, too!! Especially since a cover has been released! The only possibility I can think of is that Cormack must have decided on some major last-minute revisions. I thought there was a typo at first, too, but the Goodreads listing has this 2019 release date. In parentheses, they have the June 2018 release date. So the book has indeed been delayed. Covers are not usually released THIS far ahead of publication!

I'm not going to read "Roar" yet, either. Might as well wait until it gets closer to the release date for "Rage".

Hope you're having a great day, too!! Thanks for commenting!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE BOYS, AND WOOF, WOOF TO THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  7. Ooh that's one of the favorite covers I've seen in a while. I never did read roar and now I've got some catching up to do,looks like. That is quite the wait, though. Maybe like some the comments I'll wait until it's closer for this to be out to read the first one. I hate forgetting stuff too... :)

    1. Hi, Greg!

Yeah, this is a GREAT cover!!

I'm SO disappointed that the release has been delayed..... :( So yeah, I'll wait to start on "Roar" when the release for "Rage" gets closer. I'm with you on forgetting stuff!

      Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  8. Love the cover! And it sure sounds good, the wait is pretty torturous though. ☺

    1. Hi, Jenea!

Yeah, that cover is just STUNNING. And the plot ROCKS!! I wonder why it's been delayed a WHOLE year.....

      Thanks for commenting!! HUGS!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  9. Damn... the covers of this series are amazing! I haven't read the first book yet but I've heard some good things. It's a long wait for the sequel, though! :o

    1. Hi, Steph!

      Yes, they DEFINITELY are!!

I own the first book, but have yet to read it. I can't believe how LOOOOONG we have to wait for the second one to be published!! Wonder what that happened..... :(

      Thanks for commenting!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  10. I haven't read this series yet, but I'm really excited to do so! Great pick!

    Here’s my WoW !

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog

    1. Hi, Ronyell!

Yeah, this SURE looks like an AMAZING series!! Glad you love my pick!!

      Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  11. It looks lovely - what a shame the release date has been so delayed. I'm guessing the author has hit a bump in the road and missed her editing slot with the publisher...

    1. Hi, Sarah!

Yes, this cover is just SO BEAUTIFUL....

I am VERY disappointed that the release of the second volume has been delayed, too. Since you're an author yourself, I can see how you would know what probably happened with this book. It's really too bad, as I was looking forward to reading these back to back..... :(

      Thanks for the informative comment!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  12. Oh, no 2019???? That's not fair!! Princess and leading the rebel?? Love it!!

    1. Hi, Verushka!

Yeah, so disappointing..... I guess the author ran into some sort of editing trouble. Or maybe she had to make some major plot revisions.... :(

The plot is DEFINITELY AMAZING!! I love it, too!! And that cover.... Oh, I wish they would release this book sooner.... :(

      Thanks so much for commenting back!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  13. Omg you are so funny Maria! You always make me smile! Can’t wait for the release of a sequel of a series you haven’t started yet! XD that’s commitment!
